And the First Nations Shall Lead Them

 

Most Canadian aboriginal psychological and social problems were created, very intentionally, by Ottawa, with the enthusiastic, expert help of the Catholic Church, and others as abusive. Originally, politicians, or the Crown, believed that aboriginals would just die out on their own and were thus a temporary problem. When they didn't, the system of abuse centres called Residential Schools was built to obliterate their families, society, culture, and language. 

But instead of crushing them, this may have hardened their spirits into flawless diamond.
