More thoughts on Genesis

To me, genesis describes in simple, general terms, the creation of the Earth. It is a world, not a universal, creation story. Creation does not mean bringing into existence from nothingness, but the organization of unorganized constituents. The story describes the coalescence of the sun from a nebula rich in hydrogen and oxygen, the waters, and the accretion and population of the Earth.

My religion teaches that everything physical was created spiritually first. I believe evolution follows these "blueprints". Thus the seven days of creation can be explained in two ways: as the simple description of the long periods of billions of years to people unable to grasp numbers that high and scientific principles undiscovered, or as  the relative periods that it took to make the spiritual blueprints. I prefer to believe that both apply.
